To the unassuming eye, the organs are tightly embedded and overshadowed by layers of fascia, bone, connective tissue, vessels, fat and skin. They are deeply packed inside the body like diamonds are sealed by hard rock in the earth’s mantle, ostensibly unreachable from the outside. When you study and befriend them, small passageways become slowly visible. Some seem straightforward, others steep and treacherous, encapsulated by meandering rivers and winding valleys. Walk through these hidden slopes and serpentines, and you will see how they reach the universe and the rest of us.

A rambling story that came out of nowhere and is going nowhere.
Last night I had the strangest dream.
-
You and I lived on a little moon.
You stepped out of the door and asked me “Do you think we should trim the trees?”
“No,” I said. “I like a wild-blooming tree.”
“Don’t you want to wake up to a jungle of flowers?
Imagine living in a place like that and gazing at the moon.”
“Flowers are overrated.”, you said. “Listen to the cellist.
Isn’t this music far more enjoyable than sitting in a bed of flowers?”
“Can’t you like both?” I replied.
You shrugged.
“Whatever. Let’s go join the people on asteroid A578x for their picnic.
We’re running late. We don’t want to miss looking at the beach people on earth.”
And off we went.
